In a recent visit to Secondary Technical School Umuariam, Obowo, Imo State, my team, emphasized the commitment of the State Government under the leadership of my dear husband, His Excellency, Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma, to protect young boys and girls from violence.

The team led by the Honourable Commissioner for WAVG, Lady Nkechinyere Ugwu during the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence, highlighted existing laws like Child Rights Law and VAPP Law aimed at creating a safer society.

Child Rights Advocate, Samuel Obizue and Director for Women Affairs, Dr. Blessing Azubuike, highlighted gender inequality as a fundamental cause of violence against women. They further urged students to report incidents through the provided hotlines and also assured them of confidentiality.
