As part of the Christmas festivities, my team, represented by the Ministry of Women Affairs and Vulnerable Groups, visited the State Rehabilitation Centre for Destitutes Umuneke, Ngor Okpala, Imo State on December 24, 2023.

The delegation from the Ministry were led by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Vulnerable Groups, Hon. She also commended the staff for their efforts and encouraged them to continue their good work.

The delightful visit included the presentation of gifts by Santa and Mrs. Claus, distribution of food and sundry items to enhance their living conditions; accompanied by dancing, singing with refreshments. Inmates who were sick and/or restrained in their rooms were given food, refreshments and presents.

Following this, in his vote of thanks, the Principal of the rehabilitation center, Mr. Kingsley Nwanozie, expressed gratitude and offered prayers, thanking the Government of Imo State and our team.
