Celebrating World Teachers’ Day

In a remarkable show of solidarity, Imo State teachers alongside prominent Government officials and other dignitaries, gathered at the Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu Square Owerri to commemorate the #WorldTeachersDay.

In his address, my dear husband @he_hopeuzodimma, conveyed his commitment to implementing the federal government’s retirement policy for teachers and vowed to enhance teacher remuneration by making the profession more attractive.

Rev. Dr. Philip Nwansi, Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Imo State Chapter, praised the 3R Administration, mentioning that never in the history of Imo State have teachers been well treated than in his administration.

He listed notable instances such as the ensuring timely salaries, promotions, 13th-month pay, free transportation, medical care, compliance with minimum wage, prompt retiree payments, classroom renovations, and professional training.

During the event, several teachers from across the 27 Local Government Areas marched past and thereon, in a resounding resolution declared their support for Governor Uzodimma, designating him as their sole candidate for the upcoming election.

Afterwards, they conferred on him, two prestigious awards; the “Golden Pen Award”; the first of a kind and the “Award of Synergy and Continuity”. I expressed our profound appreciation for their dedication to education in the state and applauded their pivotal role in shaping society and their unwavering support for the 3R administration.
