Commencement of the Maiden Edition of the Renewed Hope Initiative Elderly Support Scheme (RHIESS)

On December 21, 2023, we commenced the maiden edition of the Renewed Hope Initiative Elderly Support Scheme (RHIESS) in Imo State themed, “Better Days Ahead”.

RHIESS, part of the national project of the First Lady of the Federation, HE Sen. Oluremi Tinubu CON, the Renewed Hope Initiative, aims to empower 250 elderly people in Imo State who are 65 years of age or older with the sum of twenty-five million naira (N25,000,000).

Each beneficiary received the sum of one hundred thousand naira (N100,000) to alleviate the burden of the elderly during this festive period and to remind our elderly citizens that their contributions to building our society have not gone unnoticed.

I express my deepest gratitude to the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, whose visionary leadership has been the driving force behind diverse initiatives that uplift the lives of Nigerians.

Furthermore, my office ensured widows and the elderly Imo citizens got humanitarian services like free medical checks, counselling and health management tips.

Thereafter, bags of rice, wrappers, and cash gifts were distributed by my office to support 270 widows and 50 orphanage homes in Imo State in the spirit of the yuletide season.

We look forward to creating transformative experiences to ensure “Better Days Ahead” is not just a theme but a reality for every one of our elderly citizens in Imo State and across the country.

Chief Barr. (Mrs.) Chioma Uzodimma.
First Lady of Imo State, Founder of GoodHope Flourish Foundation and Secretary of Renewed Hope Initiative.
