Imo First Lady – H.E. Barr. Chioma Uzodimma, Victim Support Fund Mark International Widows’ Day, Dole Out Cash, And Other Items To 100 Widows

Imo First Lady, Victim Support Fund mark International Widow’s Day, dole out cash, and other items to 100 widows.

On July 14, 2022, my office in collaboration with the Victim Support Fund (VSF) @victimssupportfund and the Ministry of Women Affairs and Vulnerable Groups, empowered a hundred widows in Imo State in commemoration of the 2022 International Widows’ Day held on June 23, themed “Sustainable Solutions for Widows Financial Independence”.

In this year’s edition, the women were selected from the 27 Local Government Areas in Imo State and were all gathered at Government House, Owerri for distribution of items from the Victim Support Fund (VSF).

They were all handed cash gifts and food items, to aid their existing businesses as well as grinders, to start up small businesses.

The outreach which was ably led by Honourable Commissioner, Lady Nkechinyere Ugwu @hon_nkechinyereugwu was filled with delightful performances.

Afterwards, I encouraged them to be there for each other; to love and support one another and gave my assurance to always be there for them.

I pray that the Lord God continues to grant them peace, sound wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
