Imo First Lady HE Chioma Uzodimma through the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Vulnerable Group Hon. Lady Nkechinyere Ugwu pays a surprise visit to the maternity ward of the Teaching Hospital, Umuna Orlu

On January 1st, 2023, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Vulnerable Group Hon. Lady Nkechinyere Ugwu, who was accompanied by Mrs. Ijeoma Onyebuagu, on my behalf paid a surprise visit to the maternity ward of the Teaching Hospital Umuna Orlu, to celebrate with the first babies of the year.

Babies are our next generation; their conception signifies hope, their smile gives us joy and their birth reminds us of all the reasons why we must keep making the world better not just for us but for their future.

Today and beyond I pray that this symbol of good fortune manifests in families who want them and those who already have them.

Babies Chukwuebuka, Onwuanukpe, and Ezurike were showered with cash gifts, post-natal care items and their families were filled with joy and shared their gratitude. I pray the Lord gives these new parents among others who will welcome new ones this year the grace and resources to raise their children with the fear of God.

I extend my gratitude to the staff at the hospital for their assistance and all their work in taking care of patients.
