Imo State Government In Partnership With First Lady’s Office Fully Fund The Surgery Of Miss Blessing
Almost a year ago, my non-profit, the GoodHope Flourish Foundation got a letter regarding Miss Blessing Amarachi Umunnakwe of Ihiagwa, Owerri West L.G.A., Imo State, after an unfortunate ailment befell her.
Miss Blessing Amarachi, a sound scholar who won the 2021 MEXT Postgraduate Scholarship organized by the Japanese Embassy in Abuja, would have resumed the fully funded studies at the University of Tokyo in October 2021. Unfortunately, her sickness grew worse, which led to a painful loss of the scholarship.
After a series of medical tests and wrong diagnoses in various hospitals in Nigeria, the National Hospital Abuja suggested Egypt for the best treatment surgery. Deacon Umunnakwe, Blessing’s father, wrote again to the foundation, this time beckoning the government of Imo State to come to his rescue.
Through constant prayers and critical engagements with the Imo State government, bringing up Miss Blessing’s case incessantly. The Imo State government was able to fully fund Miss Blessing’s surgery in Egypt.
Blessing is on a fast track to recovery. She has dropped the first walking aid; and in no time, she will drop the second walking aid.
Yesterday, as she walked heartedly into my office with her parents, I felt a deep sense of gratitude to God for His miracle and the 3R Administration for intervening to assist this young, smart, and beautiful lady to stay alive. As she continues recovery, my foundation will continue to help until she is back on her feet pursuing her dreams.
