Inaugural Flag-Off Ceremony of the RHI Women Agricultural Support Program in the South-East Zone
I was joined by my dear husband, Governor Hope Uzodimma CON, State Governors’ Wives from Abia – HE Priscilla Otti, Anambra – HE Nonye Soludo, Bayelsa – HE Gloria Diri, Ebonyi – HE Mary-Maudline Nwifuru and Enugu – HE Nkechinyere Mbah to warmly welcome Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON, the First Lady of Nigeria and National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) and her entourage, to Owerri on February 28, 2024, for the inaugural flag-off ceremony of the RHI Women Agricultural Support Program in the South-East Zone.
Among the 100 beneficiaries from each of the South-East States, 20 female farmers from Imo State received grants of five hundred thousand naira (N500,000) each with agricultural inputs, underscoring RHI’s dedication to enhancing the agricultural sector and ensuring food security. NALDA partnered in this endeavour, offering training and resources to improve farming practices and reduce crop loss. Simultaneously, 100 Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWD) received N100,000 Small Business Recapitalization Grants through RHI’s Social Investment Program, highlighting the Government’s commitment to inclusivity.
This marking a significant step towards a more prosperous and inclusive nation.
Special thanks to the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON, who spearheaded these programs and also empowered South-eastern women during her visit. This initiative will extend to all remaining geopolitical zones, provide opportunities for economic empowerment and foster a sense of dignity and self-reliance among our women.
