International Day Against Drug Abuse And Illicit Trafficking, 2022

This year the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, or #WorldDrugDay, is commemorated with the theme- “Addressing Drug Challenges in Health and Humanitarian Crisis”. The idea aims to emphasize the soaring misuse of drugs around the world due to the current economic crisis.

The Imo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has been working tirelessly to track the flow of illegal drugs in the State and arrest its peddlers. Thankfully, over the past few months, there has been an increase in the number of drug seizures and treatments of victims of substance abuse.

Similarly, my colleagues at the Nigeria Governor’s Wives Forum (NGWF) @ngw_forum are working together with the @ndlea_nigeria, to curb the use and abuse of drugs in each of their States across our Nation.

While other forums, agencies, and Government organizations continue to collaborate or create projects to aid our relentless fight against drug abuse, I encourage Imolites to raise awareness by circulating accurate and helpful information about the effects of drug abuse on users and society.
