International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2023
To create an environment that promotes understanding, empathy, and support, the @unitednations among other organizations around the globe commemorate this year’s International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking with the theme, “Stop Stigma and Discrimination, Strengthen Prevention.”
By emphasizing the need of challenging false stereotypes about drug usage and addiction, we bring attention to the extensive effects that victims frequently face, the societal obstacles that stand in the way of victims’ recovery and feed the addiction cycle.
Organizations are concentrating on disrupting the supply chain through education, awareness, early intervention, community participation, policy formulation, and developing comprehensive drug abuse treatment programs to advance their efforts in fighting drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
I am firmly optimistic that we can build a culture that supports people struggling with drug addiction, lessen the stigma, and strives to eradicate drug abuse and illegal trafficking in our country and the world at large.
