INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ELIMINATION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN, 2021
We commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, today, November 25th, to highlight actions taken by the Government, National and International Organizations as well as Non-governmental Organisations and Individuals to address violence against women and girls. Days like these draw the attention of more people to the problems women face in our society.
Sadly, violence against women and girls is still one of the most persistent and devastating human rights violations in our world today. Fortunately, today marks the beginning of the annual 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, themed “Orange the world: End violence against women now!” and will run from 25 November to 10 December, 2021.
As we collectively raise awareness by taking on various forms of advocacy on these horrible acts of violence against females, it is my hope that we create a future where acts of violence against women and girls comes to an end.
