International Day of the African Child

International Day of the African Child

The International Day of the African Child shines a light of hope, reminding all Stakeholders of the need to respect children’s rights. Celebrated annually on June 16th, this day highlights the ongoing struggle for educational equality across Africa.

This year’s theme, “Education for All Children in Africa: The Time is Now,” resonates deeply as we confront the persistent barriers preventing millions of African children from accessing quality education.

In Imo State, we recognize education as the cornerstone of progress, empowerment, and development. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn and reach their full potential in a safe and supportive learning environment.

The time for action is now. Unless we design educational policies and leadership with a clear vision for the future’s global and local skill needs, the goal of providing high-quality, equitable, accessible, and affordable education for all children will remain unfulfilled.

Let’s invest in our children’s education today. Together, we can make education a reality for all.
