International Day of the Girl Child
Over the past couple of years, the Imo State Government has taken deliberate measures to empower and educate our children, especially the girl child on vital aspects of their lives, through menstrual hygiene awareness, provision of educational materials, sponsorship and various donations.
We have and will always encourage our girls to stay focused on their education as it is the key that unlocks doors to a world of opportunities. Several women before us have fought tirelessly through determination and sacrifice for those opportunities to be opened and for us to utilize.
So, as we commemorate this year’s International Day of the Girl Child, we encourage and celebrate our girls’ uniqueness, potential, and strength, reminding them they are not just the leaders of tomorrow; they are the leaders of today.
