International Widows Day, 2022!
We commemorate #InternationalWidowsDay today with the theme “Sustainable Solutions for Widows Financial Independence” as an opportunity to take another step towards achieving the full rights of widows in communities around Imo State and the globe.
In Imo State, the 3R administration has invested resources in aiding to empower members of the Widows Associations, the National Association of Widows, Widowers and Orphans, and Armed Forces Widows among other Widow associations with stipends, appliances to fend for themselves, resolve their cases and provide protection among other efforts.
This year’s theme is aimed at encouraging more individuals or institutions to either donate to an organization that cares for widows, volunteer to help the ones in their community, or simply raise funds to assist widows in their time of need. I am confident that our continuous and collective efforts, no matter how little, makes a world of difference to them.
