In order to improve all aspects of our societies, it is essential that we see the next person, regardless of gender, as worthy and deserving of the same opportunities as ourselves.
The goal of advocating for women’s rights is to promote an inclusive community that transforms both socially and economically. Therefore, we must educate ourselves about the effects of social injustice and join those movements that seek to end it.
As we mark #InternationalWomensDay under the United Nations theme, “#DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality”, I stand with numerous organizations and individuals in advocating for the use of innovative technology in achieving gender equality and empowerment for all women and girls.
To provide extraordinary achievements for our society, leaders at all levels, both locally and internationally, must work deliberately with diversity, equity, and inclusion in mind. Despite its challenges, the fight for equity would benefit individuals and communities alike.
On this auspicious occasion, while we raise awareness of gender inequality, I commend my wonderful women who fight the good fight for equity and I am optimistic one day this fight will no longer be a burden we carry.
