Official Flag off of the first round of the 2023 Maternal, New Born Child Health Week
On behalf of my dear husband, the Executive Governor of Imo State, Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma @he_hopeuzodimma, I flagged off and commissioned the first round of the 2023 Maternal, New Born Child Health Week (MNCHW) and the implementation of Community Health Influencers and Promoters Services (CHIPS) program in our dear State on May 22, 2023.
During this event, I tasked traditional rulers and their cabinet members, Ward Development Committee (WDC) Chairmen and their teams, as well as other community leaders, to ensure that every child, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers are reached with the already supplied interventions by the Federal Government, Imo State Government, UNICEF, Vitamin Angels, Ugo’s Touch of Lives Foundation (U-TOLF) and other partners.
We also launched the CHIPS program in the State to enhance the capacity of Village Health Workers (VHW) to offer “health services at the doorstep” for the people of Imo State. Imo State will not fail to keep the CHIPS program well and alive as long as it meets its goal and objectives of improving maternal and child health.
My immense appreciation goes to the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Imo State – Dr. Prosper Success-Ohayagha, the Executive Secretary of the @isphcda_ – Rev. Sr. Dr. Mary-Joannes Uzoma, Imo State Health Insurance Agency, the @nphcda, other Departments and Agencies (MDAs) within the Health Sector, Primary Health care Workers, the CHIPS agents and to our partners, @whonigeria, @unicef_nigeria, Ugo’s Touch of Lives Foundation (@utolf), @vitaminangels, @caritas_initiative, MRITE, CORONA Management System, @ccfn_campaign, @afenetnigeria, @kncvnigeria, @mariestopesng, among others for their efforts in serving the people of Imo State exceptionally.
