Thanksgiving Mass at Maria Assumpta Cathedral Owerri

My dear husband, HE Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma @he_hopeuzodimma and I marked Independence Day by attending a prayer and Thanksgiving Mass at Maria Assumpta Cathedral Owerri. During the sermon, we were reminded of our responsibility to cherish the values of freedom and unity that our nation’s independence represents.

Nigeria yearns for a new beginning, a unified nation where harmony prevails in every corner, where parents take care of their children and children take care of their parents, young people find employment after their education, and workers receive fair wages. We took a moment to reflect on how our actions as patriotic citizens can be harnessed to lead us to greater heights.

As we rounded off the mass, our prayers were dedicated to our leaders, from the Presidency to the Local Governments, that they may be blessed with the wisdom to govern and create a brighter future for our beloved country.

The mass was attended by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin O. Kalu @officialbenkalu, among other esteemed legislators, top government functionaries, elder statesmen and a host of other dignitaries.
