The 10th General Assembly Of the Africa First Lady Peace Mission (AFLPM)
During the 10th General Assembly Of the Africa First Lady Peace Mission (AFLPM) held at the State House Conference Hall, Abuja, on May 8, 2023, I joined prominent members of this alliance and other endorsing members in witnessing the signing of the MOU with the African Union.
This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed by the First Lady of Nigeria and President of AFLPM, H.E Dr. (Mrs.) Aisha Buhari, and the Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security, African Union Commission, Amb. Bankole Adeoye, with the African Union, is expected to help transform the continent, promote a culture of peace and attain Sustainable Development Goals.
The event which started with a resounding welcome address given by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Legal Matters, Aisha Rimi reminded us of the purpose and imperial objectives of the union.
Present at the event were the wife of Nigeria’s President-Elect, H.E. Dist. Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, Nigerian Governors’ Wives, the Vice President of the Republic of Liberia, H.E. Mrs. Jewel Taylor, wives of African Presidents, diplomatic corps members, delegates from the African Union, Government functionaries and other distinguished guests.
Thereafter, we were hosted to a delightful dinner by H.E Dr. (Mrs.) Aisha Buhari. I look forward to the association achieving all its objectives in promoting peace, security, and alleviation of conflicts.
