The Renewed Hope Initiative disburses relief packages to displaced victims in Plateau State
During the disbursement of relief and resettlement packages to 500 displaced victims of communal clashes and conflicts in 6 Local Government Areas of Plateau State by the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, her words, “It is by living in peace and love that the great potentials of our nation would be actualized,” resonated with me because it re-emphasized her value on unity, co-operation, and a positive environment for progress and prosperity.
The initiative organized by the Renewed Hope Initiative took place on September 12, 2023, in the presence of the Plateau State Governor Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, other dignitaries and a total of 500 families drawn from Mangu, Riyom, Barkin Lado, Bassa, Bokos, and Jos South Local Government areas got one million Naira each to enable them to return to their communities and rebuild homes.
The occasion further provided the First Lady with a chance to underscore the importance of food production, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s call for a state of emergency in the agricultural sector.
Embracing dialogue, tolerance, and understanding enables us to collaborate in creating a more harmonious society. We must always recognize that our diversity is a source of strength, and by uniting, we can overcome challenges that may threaten our unity.
