World Breastfeeding Week, 2022!
During the first few weeks of life, breastfeeding should take place when your baby is hungry (on demand), which is roughly every 1-1/2 to 3 hours. This is so that their bodies can correctly develop their bones, immune systems, and other body systems, which means they require all the nutrients they can get.
However, until then, adequate breastfeeding is one of the best ways to ensure the survival and well-being of children. Children who are breastfed are less likely to become obese or develop diabetes in the future.
As #WorldBreastfeedingWeek comes to a closing, with multiple events planned by various NGOs, Government Agencies, and Forums, I urge us to keep raising awareness about breastfeeding and the need to enlist political, legal, financial, and popular support for it.
