World Hepatitis Day, 2022!
Today, the world celebrates #WorldHepatitisDay2022: a global campaign aimed at raising awareness about viral hepatitis and influencing real change in the funding of its treatment.
To emphasize the importance of testing and treating those who need it, the theme this year is “I CAN’T WAIT”. In launching the campaign, it will bring to light the voices of those calling for immediate action and an end to stigmatization and discrimination against those affected by viral hepatitis.
Expectant mothers, newborn babies and individuals living with hepatitis can’t wait. I therefore, call on stakeholders to act now in order to make hepatitis elimination a reality through funding and raising awareness of knowing your status, prevention methods, handling it, and treatment, so that our communities can become educated on the disease.
