Governors’ Spouses Summit 2023
On Thursday, May 18, 2023, Wives of State Governors under the auspices of the Nigeria Governors’ Wives Forum (NIGWF) @ngw_forum gathered at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja for the 2023 Governors’ Spouses Summit themed, PARTNERSHIP FOR IMPACT: STATE FIRST LADIES & SUBNATIONAL GOVERNANCE.
There, we discussed NIGWF’s strategic partnerships with donors, development partners, and Stakeholders on various issues ranging from nutrition, drug abuse, gender-based violence, and empowerment projects as well as our contribution to the education and health sectors.
The interactive session provided us the opportunity to welcome new members while applauding the efforts of past and outgoing members. Incoming members of the forum were provided with practical guidance about our advocacy efforts, contributions to policy development, and a call to strengthen our ties with our Stakeholders and partners in the subnational for incredible collaborative proposals that will positively influence our communities and the nation at large.
Day Two of the summit with the Governors’ wives was truly an eventful day and I look forward to fruitful deliberations.
