International Day Of The African Child, 2022!
The International Day of the African Child is celebrated on June 16 every year to recognize the courage thousands of students had to step up and take their rights themselves. It is a symbol of protest and the spirit of demanding proper education for all the children of Africa.
The 2022 theme is “Eliminating Harmful Practices Affecting Children: Progress on Policy And Practice”.
Today, as we commemorate this historic event, we ought to educate ourselves on the need to protest against discrimination, and segregation. We should always make sure that we give compulsory and child-friendly education to all African children.
In Imo State, my team has always recognized this need and has continued to interact with students in order to motivate them, compile feedback about the challenges they encounter and respond to various questions they have. We will continue to do our best to meet the all-around needs and betterment of Imo children.
